Here I am --hi there. I am still in a bowie rediscovery mood on and off since january, which leads me to some revisit. I did not expect to land here. I hope you don't mind. Your post simply resonnated well...nawang jinpahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03082119096777813486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9078056151450149211.post-72056219555521881402016-05-30T11:48:29.281-07:002016-05-30T11:48:29.281-07:00Hi Loren, I resonnate. I had my teenage Pornography years, and also needed to move on, and Bowie helped me through, basically all these albums up to Low, but Low included. I saw or rather received the Cure live performing Pornography in 1982 when I was 14, it was my first concert ever, and that set the tone for a few years of depressive and intense teenagehood. I would listen to Pornography nearly every day --other stuff too but that was my most "intimate" fave.
I started shifting 2 years later, and certainly discovering Bowie then accompanied this process, of wanting to live again, with firm conviction. Too many songs involved to quote. Cygnet Commitee did help i am sure. I did not fully understand what tha song was about, but I got it roughly that freedom was not so easy to work through, that being right was tricky, and that yes, I wanted to live. And how well he made me feel the greatness of being human, just by his incredible way of interpreting his songs....
Unlike you, I did not start any serious therapy then --was not that lucky, or that ripe. But I did resonnate with Buddhism about 10 years later.
I hope you re happy.
We know the guy was a junky...
I am happy too.
He is an amazing black star,
shining in the depth of our hearts...
Incredible how we carry these things
like scars that cannot be seen
drama that cannot be stolen
wishing you all the bestnawang jinpahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03082119096777813486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9078056151450149211.post-25797714399690167602016-05-05T12:28:36.471-07:002016-05-05T12:28:36.471-07:00lovelylovelyPasadena Adjacenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09031325790590238246noreply@blogger.com
